Number Porting
Bringing an existing UK number to Silux Call, and what we handle for you.
Porting moves a number you already own from your current provider to us, so you keep the number your customers know.
How to start
- Go to Dashboard → Number Porting
- Enter the numbers you want to bring and your current provider
- Upload a recent bill and a letter of authority — these prove you control the number
- Submit the request
Porting is not instant and is not automated end to end. Our team works the request with the losing carrier and keeps you updated by email. Treat the dates below as typical rather than guaranteed.
What to expect
| Type | What we need | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| UK landline | A recent bill and a signed letter of authority | Usually a few working days |
| Porting out | We must release it on request | Within 24 hours, per Ofcom rules |
Cost
Porting in is free on every plan. Porting out is always free — we will not hold your number.
Common reasons a port is rejected
- •The name or address on the request does not match the losing provider's records
- •The bill supplied is too old, or does not show the number being ported
- •The number has an outstanding contract or unpaid balance with the current provider
- •The letter of authority is unsigned, or signed by someone who is not the account holder
Do not cancel your existing service before the port completes. Cancelling releases the number back to the network and the port will fail.
